Abstract
Die Methode der Radiotelemetrie wurde vier Jahre lang bei einer Studie der Westlichen Smaragdeidechse im Mittelrheintal in Deutschland verwendet. Während dieser Untersuchung wurden 25 Tiere, 14 Männchen und 11 Weibchen mit implantierten Sendern telemetriert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Methode keinen nachweisbaren Einfluss auf das Verhalten der Art hat und dass Radiotelemetrie mit implantierten Sendern zur Untersuchung kleinerer Eidechsenarten in vegetationsreichen Habitaten geeignet ist.English Abstract
Radiotracking was used during a four year study on the Western Green Lizard (Lacerta bilineata) in the Middle Rhine Valley in Western Germany. 25 specimens, 14 male and 11 female, were tracked with implanted transmitters. Some individuals were tracked several times throughout successive years. Some specimens were also tracked during the breeding season. Our results show that this method has no observable influence on the behaviour of the Western Green Lizard and that radio tracking with implanted transmitters is a suitable method to study small lizards in dense vegetation.
