Abstract

English Abstract

The clutch size of Varied Tits on Kohzu-shima (34°15′N, 139°10′E) in the Izu Islands was investigated using nestboxes. The mean±S.D. of clutch size was 5.37±1.01. Clutch sizes were found to be intermediate between, and significantly different from, those of the Honshu mainland population and Miyake-jima island (the next island south of Kohzu-shima) population.
