Abstract

Im Frühjahr 1993 wurde in Möhnsen im Landkreis Herzogtum Lauenburg ein neues Kleintiertunnelsystem auf seine Funktionalität und Effektivität im Zuge der Amphibienwanderung getestet. Der Mehrweg-Tunnel mit Kippbodeneinfall-schächten wurde während der Anwanderung von über 80 % der wandernden Amphibien genutzt. Über 70 % der Tiere ak-zeptierten ihn auf der Rückwanderung in den Sommerlebensraum. Die Nutzung des Tunnels durch Kleinsäuger und Insekten konnte nachgewiesen werden. Der Tunnel erwies sich als sehr effektiv und kann für den Einbau in Straßen zur Schaffung einer Querungsmöglichkeit empfohlen werden.

English Abstract

From March till July 1993, during the migration of amphi-bians to the pond and back into the summer habitat I tested the functionality and effectivity of a new multiway-tunnel sy-stem with ‘trap-doors’ in Möhnsen, in the rural district of Her¬zogtum Lauenburg in Northern Germany. In the direction of the pond the tunnel was accepted by over 80 % of amphibians; over 70 % of the returning amphibians used the tunnel. In-sects and mammals also accepted the tunnel. The research has shown that the effectivity and functionality of the tunnel is high. It is recommended that more, similar tunnels be con-structed to enable amphibians to cross roads.
