Abstract

イノシシ（Sus scrofa）による農作物被害に対して，島根県は有害鳥獣捕獲と進入防止柵設置を推進し，2001年度以降は被害金額を減少させた．しかし，山間部ではこれらの対策を効果的に実施できず，現在も農業被害が発生している．そのため，こうした地域でも実施できる効果的な被害対策が求められている．上記以外の対策としては，「イノシシを森林内に誘引するための給餌」が欧州で実施されているが，その効果については賛否両論がある．そこで本研究では，森林内での給餌が本種の活動に及ぼす影響を明らかにし，その被害軽減の可能性について検討した． 調査は島根県羽須美村（現在は邑南町）で実施した．2005年3～5月にイノシシ8個体を捕獲し，発信機を装着後に放獣した．その内3個体について，2005年8月22～26日に無給餌条件下で，8月27日～9月2日に給餌条件下で追跡調査を実施した．餌は圧片トウモロコシを使用し，1個体は無給餌条件下の行動圏内，その他の個体は行動圏外に散布した． 無給餌条件下での行動圏面積は81.4～132.4 haを示した．給餌条件下では，行動圏内に給餌された個体Aのみで給餌地点の利用が確認された．この個体については，給餌条件下で測位地点と給餌地点までの距離が短くなり（Mann-Whitney's U-test，P＜0.001），活動中心が耕作地から離れ，行動圏に耕作地が内包されなくなった．また，行動圏面積は無給餌条件下の44.2％に縮小し，給餌地点と休息場所を往復する単純な活動様式を示した．行動圏外に給餌した個体BおよびCでは，行動圏面積の縮小（無給餌条件下の72.0％）と拡大（同142.5％）が確認されたが，活動様式は変化しなかった．本調査により，行動圏内への給餌はイノシシの活動に影響し，被害対策として有効である可能性があるものの，本研究で行った行動圏外への給餌は本種の活動に影響しないことが明らかとなった．

English Abstract

The purposes of this study were to examine the impact of artificial feeding on wild boars (Sus scrofa) and its potential as an indirect way to prevent boar damage. We conducted the study in Hasumi village in August and September in 2005. The home ranges of 3 wild boars that were not fed artificially were monitored between 22nd and 26th, August. Then the home ranges of the same individuals after artificial feeding were monitored between 27th August and 2nd September. Home ranges without feeding covered 81.4–132.4 ha. One wild boar was fed inside of its home range as identified prior to feeding and used the feeding place within it. As a result, distances between feeding place and loci of this individual became significantly shorter (Mann-Whitney’ U-test, P<0.001) and its home range reduced to 51.6 ha (44.2% of without feeding). Others were fed outside of their home ranges as identified prior to feeding and they did not use the feeding place. The activity of wild boar was affected strongly by artificial feeding inside of the home range, but not by feeding outside. And there was a possibility to prevent agricultural damage by the former.
