Abstract

Рассмотрены два подхода по восстановлению ресурсов кабарги в России, подорванных нелегальной охотой. Сделан вывод, что вид можно сохранить только в природе. Рекомендации по охране кабарги основаны на результатах 38-летнего разведения животных в неволе на биостанции Черноголовка и данных полевых исследований. Программа разведения в неволе не отвечает требованиям долгосрочного сохранения вида из-за снижения репродукции и усиления инбредной депрессии в экспериментальных группах при длительном содержании животных на фермах. Установление моратория на добычу кабарги сроком на 15 лет рассматривается как наиболее эффективная мера для охраны и восстановления ресурсов вида в России.

English Abstract

Two approaches to restoring the resources of musk deer in Russia, undermined by illegal hunting, are considered. It is concluded that the species can be saved only in nature. Recommendations for the protection of musk deer are based on the results of 38 years of breeding animals in captivity at Chernogolovka biological station and data from field studies. The captive breeding program does not meet the requirements of longterm conservation of the species due to reduced reproduction and increased inbreeding depression in the experimental groups with long-term keeping of animals in special breeding farms. Establishing a moratorium on hunting of musk deer for a period of 15 years is considered as the most effective measure for conservation and restoration the resources of the species in Russia.
