Abstract

La experiencia fue desarrollada en un bosque de quebracho de la Estación Experimental “La María” del INTA Santiago del Estero, utilizando rodales que tuvieron diferentes intervenciones. Se trabajó en una área que fue apotrerada y puesta bajo un manejo continuo de ganado, regulando la carga animal según la oferta forrajera. Uno de estos rodales fue desarbustado en 1994. Adyacente a los potreros mencionados existe una clausura desde el año 1987 que fue utilizado como un tratamiento más para este estudio. Se analizó el estrato arbustivo en las áreas consideradas, encontrando diferencias en el número de arbustos/ha: la clausura fue el área con menor número y el área desarbustada la que presentó el mayor valor. Sin embargo, no existen diferencias en cuanto al área basal, cobertura ni a la diversidad de especies medida mediante el índice de Shannon. Se concluye que, luego de 10 años de realizada la intervención, no existen diferencias entre el área desarbustada y el área que no sufrió este tratamiento

English Abstract

This experience took place at the “La Maria” INTA Experimental Station in the province of Santiago del Estero in a forest of quebracho tree whose stands underwent various interventions. Work was done on an area divided into lots with permanent cattle management which is made by regulating the animal load in accordance with forage availability. One of these stands was freed of shrubs in 1994. An adjacent area closed in 1987 with the same type of forest was also studied. Differences in the number of shrubs per ha arose out of an analysis on every shrubby stratum of the areas under study. The number of individuals in the closed area was the lowest while that in the cleared area the highest. No differences were found, however, as to basal area, canopy and species diversity measured by the Shannon index. It is concluded that no differences appear between the cleared and untreated shrubby areas since the intervention ten years ago
