Abstract

Juvenile Habichtskäuze Strix uralensis, die im Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald wiederangesiedelt werden sollen, benötigen zusätzliches Futter, das nahe den Freilassungsvolieren angeboten wird, um durch die erste Zeit ihres Lebens in Freiheit zu kommen. Auch bereits ansässige freilebende Brutpaare haben Zugang zu diesem angebotenen Futter, und nutzen dieses bei schlechtem Nahrungsangebot verstärkt. Der Einfluß der Zufütterung wird in der Ausdehnung des Aktionsraumes deutlich, vor allem aber in der Nahrungszusammensetzung und damit zusammenhängend im Bruterfolg dieser Habichtskauzpaare.

English Abstract

Juvenile Ural Owls Strix uralensis reintroduced in the National Park Bayerischer Wald need supplementary food offered close to the ”release-enclosures” to get through the first time of their lives in freedom. Already resident free-living breeding pairs have access to this offered food, too, and use it increasingly when food supply is poor. The influence of supplementary food is already evident in the expansion of the home ränge, but especially so in the food composition and, related to it, in the breeding success of these Ural Owl pairs.
