Abstract

Zwischen 1989 und 1992 wurde ein Artenaktionsplan für die Ringelnatter in Berlin erstellt. Als Ergebnis wurden Entwicklungsgebiete definiert. Diese Entwicklungsgebiete umfassen auch die meisten bekannten Lokalitäten von Verbreitungsgebieten mit hohem Ausbreitungspotenzial oder für ein Habitatnetz. Für jeden Entwicklungsbereich wurde ein spezieller Katalog für Instandhaltungs- und Entwicklungsmaßnahmen erstellt. Als Beispiel für die Umsetzung des Artenaktionsplans und die Folgen für die Verbreitung der Ringelnatter haben wir ein Entwicklungsgebiet gewählt, das hauptsächlich landwirtschaftlich genutzt wird und am nordöstlichen Stadtrand von Berlin liegt. Seit 1990 wurden mehrere Maßnahmen durchgeführt. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Reduzierung der Ackerflächen zugunsten von Grünland und die Schaffung geeigneter Lebensraumstrukturen wie Kleinwasser, Heckenreihen und Randbiotope. Infolgedessen konnte eine Ausdehnung der Ringelnatter in Gebiete beobachtet werden, in denen die Art bisher nicht vorkam.

English Abstract

Between 1989 and 1992 a species action plan for the grass snake in Berlin was obtained. As a result developmental areas were defined. This developmental areas include as well most of the known localities of distribution areas with a high potential for spreading or for a network of habitats. For every developmental area a special catalogue for maintenance and developmental measures was drawn up. As an example for the implementation of the species action plan and the consequences for the distribution of the grass snake we chose a developmental area, which is mainly in agricultural use and situated in the northeastern outskirts of Berlin. Since 1990 several measures were carried out. They focus on reduction arable land in favour of grassland and on the creation of suitable habitat structures like small waters, hedge-rows and fringe biotopes. As a result an expansion of the grass snake into areas in which the species did not occur before could be observed.
